Fast Food in Japan
The Japanese are just as busy as the rest of us (actually, often times a good bit more busy) and fast food has been a part of their culture going back at least a few hundred years. Despite it's current status as haute cuisine, sushi was actually served as fast food back in the Edo era. As a result of their long history with fast food, Japan accepted and adapted Western ideas on the concept rather quickly.
It's the "adapted" part that we're interested in here. The pages below describe a few of the differences between the American fast food chains and their counterparts here in Japan.
