Japanese Home Fax Machine

Always FAX Equipped

While most Japanese homes will lack central heat, a clothes dryer and an oven, about 99% of them will have a fax machine. Fax machines were first made popular in Japan in the late 1970s and they have remained popular here ever since. So much so that it is basically assumed that you will have a FAX machine at home.

If you happen to need access to a fax for some reason during your travels in Japan, most convenience stores have coin operated fax and copy machines setup for easy public use.
